Welcome to Mindful Miles. Whether you’re a long time runner or new to the practice, you’ve come to the right place. It’s not about the distance or the pace — it’s about learning to challenge yourself and unlocking the best version of you. Browse around for inspiration, info, and more.

NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Sara Hayes

I created Mindful Miles because I was feeling lonely and looking for a community to do hard things with without feeling the pressure of not being good enough or slipping into disordered eating or exercise habits. In a world that focuses on weight loss, the "ideal" body, calorie counting, and comparison; we take a different approach.

We're not your typical run coaching service because we understand that there's so much more that goes into running than simply moving your feet.
At Mindful Miles we foster safe and inclusive spaces for all bodies. With run coaches, dietitians and mental health experts on staff we are here to support the full journey of being a runner.

Our coaching and communities are all Intuitive Eating and Health At Every Size (HAES) aligned.

We're stronger together and I look forward to welcoming you to our community.

Hi! I'm Sydney

Coach Syd is a former college athlete that has reclaimed her love and joy for movement. Sydney helps her clients do the same through mindful movement, building confidence and prioritzing mental health.

Sydney grew up hating running with a passion because it was always used as a punishment. Years after her athletic career ended she became intrigued with the idea of running and slowly fell in love with the way it calmed her mind and allowed her to push herself.

Sydney has conquered her fear of running a marathon, gained a new level of confidence in herself and improved her mental fitness all while continuing to strengthen her relationships and excel in her professional career.

Meet Taylor

Taylor is the Mindful Miles team Dietitian and Strength Coach. She is passionate about helping women recover from disordered eating, fuel their running performance and live a life where food is loved and enjoyed instead of feared.

She comes with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology and started her career working as a strength and conditioning specialist. Taylor saw so many athletes and active adults struggling with their relationship with food and saw how it hindered their athletic performance.

After overcoming her own eating disorder and learning about intuitive eating and health at every size, Taylor knew she wanted to make a career out of nutrition and support others to heal their relationship with food.

Taylor has been a runner since high school and completed the Chicago Marathon in 2019. When she isn't learning more about nutrition you can find Taylor running around outside with her 1.5 year old son and husband, or finding a local brewery or coffee shop.
